Course Description: Calculus has applications in physics, chemistry, biology, economics, and business. If you need calculus for work or school, this class will give you the tools to succeed.
This class, together with Calculus II, completes the equivalent of a first-year calculus class. Together, they also cover the topics of the College Board's AP Calculus AB test.
The prerequisites for the class include algebra and analytic geometry; trigonometry is not required for Calculus I.
Start Dates: March 21, 2005.
Format: Self-study/asynchronous. Tutorials and assignments are on web pages. Ten weekly assignments submitted and returned by e-mail.
Tech Requirements: PC or Mac with 10MB free disk space and 10MB free RAM. 100MHz or faster recommended. E-mail account and graphical web browser.
